This training is designed for MDs, DOs, DMDs, DDS, NPs, PAs, and RNs.
Is this course CME Accredited?
Yes! For completion of the Didactic (Activity #1) and the Hands-On training (Activity #2), you will receive 15.5 CME credits.
Can providers outside of CA and the US attend?
Yes! According to the State of California Business and Professions Code Section 2729, nurses licensed in another state or country are eligible to take this training for CME accreditation.
TRAINING SCHEDULE
Hands-On PDO Threads Training
In-Person Workshop (9 AM PDT)
After taking this training course, you will be able to properly assess, choose the right product, inject, and treat your patients with beautiful results.

-Live injection demo performed by 2 instructors; Dr. Gideon Kwok, Lori Robertson or Rio Calvert, MSN, FNP-C
-Your one-on-one hands-on training
Topics Covered:
-Facial Anatomy, facial vasculature, location, depths, and precautions
-The aging process, patient assessment, symmetry and balancing
-Thread knowledge, types of threads and choosing the thread type
-Thread placement and insertion techniques
-Choosing vectors, lifting techniques, anchoring locations
-Indications/contraindications of threads

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
On-Demand Didactic
- Understands the role of threads in aesthetic medicine, including patient selection, thread selection, vector design, and how to properly place threads into the proper tissue depth
- Analyze anatomical landmarks including skin, vessels, fat pads and muscles, their locations, and depths as they related to threads treatments
- Describe the aging process and how and when to utilize volume replacement and/ or Biostimulators with dissolvable threads for optimal patient outcomes
- Assess and evaluate for both early and delayed adverse events/reactions as they pertain to threads.
Hands-On Activity
- Demonstrates proper thread insertion techniques.
- Verbalizes and expresses understanding of the aging face and how to appropriately use dissolvable threads to reposition body tissue.
- Verbalizes and expresses understanding of anatomy in locations to be treated with dissolvable threads including skin, fat, and muscle, to reduce/prevent adverse events and provide more positive patient outcomes
- Verbalizes and expresses understanding of the difference between superficial and foundational threads, their uses, abilities, mechanism of actions, and expected outcomes.

Dr. Gideon Kwok, DO
Dr. Gideon Kwok, DO has more than 15 years experience performing medical aesthetics and is co-owner and Medical Director to 8 Skin Perfect Medical Clinics in Southern California. He is a national trainer for GAIN (Galderma), Cutera, Bioform (Radiesse), Merz, as well as a faculty member and trainer for MINT threads. The drive and desire to help others, whether it be his patients or fellow providers, is what keeps him at the forefront of the industry.
Lori Robertson, MSN, FNP-C
Lori Robertson, MSN, FNP-C has more than 12 years of experience performing medical aesthetics and is part of the national faculty for several premier aesthetics brands, including Allergan and Galderma. She strives to educate other providers on safe and effective injection techniques so more and more patients can enjoy the life-changing benefits injectables have to offer.
Rio Calvert, MSN, FNP-C
Rio Calvert is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Rio works in the field of aesthetics as an aesthetic provider. She is also an international aesthetic laser trainer as well as a certified PDO thread lift trainer for multiple industry-leading companies. She also trains aesthetic practices on the latest injectable procedures, techniques, and best practices. Rio has a passion for teaching and empowering others to reach their highest potential. Rio’s hobbies are camping, fishing, hiking, dirt bike riding, water sports, and cooking.
